Brian Madigan,
Area Supervisor |
Louisburg has completed the Toronto Portland’s Reinforcement Project.
Link-Line, Louisbourg, Aecon, Summit and Somerville are all busy working on small mainline construction
and maintenance projects spread out from Manitoba in the west to Gananoque in the east.
Out-of-province work is plentiful in Alberta, Saskatchewan,
Manitoba and New Brunswick and work is expected to pick up in Alberta this winter.
Some members have not completed the mandatory Pipeline
Safety Training Course. All members must complete the course to be dispatched to a pipeline sector project.
The pipeline apprentice committee has been activated and is reviewing our pipeline apprentice policy. If anyone has any questions or comments please contact myself or South Central Ontario area supervisor Alex Law.The Pipeline Maintenance Agreement for Canada is up for renewal in late 2008/early 2009.
Proposal meetings will be scheduled and all local area offices and stewards will be notified of times, dates and locations.
If you can not attend the meetings, written proposals will be accepted, or you can call myself or Alex Law.
Training for coating and blasting techs will be reviewed if members are interested. They should contact myself or Alex Law.
The distribution sector is busy and should remain so until late fall, weather permitting.
