Inspectors from the Ministry of Labour will be conducting a number of regional and provincial construction safety blitzes and initiatives in 2017-18.
They will be visiting sites and looking for violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Employment Standards Act.
Following are the provincial blitzes scheduled for construction:
Hours of Work – until August 31, 2017
Residential Projects – from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30
Falls and Ladder Safety – from Oct. 2 to Nov. 24
Following are the provincial initiatives scheduled for construction:
Noise – until March 31, 2018
Struck-by Hazards – until March 31, 2018
Fall Protection – until March 31, 2018
Following are the regional initiatives scheduled for construction:
Central West Ontario – focus on worker training and hazard exposure in construction – until March 31, 2018.
Western Ontario – focus on electrical contact in construction – until March 31, 2018
